Sacred Celtic Rituals By Dow Shelnutt
Well-Known Rituals Samhaine: Known today as Halloween Beltane: Known today as May Day Druids practiced a ritual named ‘Tarb-feis’ in order to obtain or retain their prophetic powers Druids of these times would infuse magic spells for protection into the swords while they were being made. Most people today do not understand the importance of these practices, nor do they realize they originate from the Ancient Celts.
Carmina Gadelica The Carmina Gadelica is a sacred, ancient book that lists many of the minor prayers and rituals of the Celts. Scientists and historians have found most of this book, so they have enough for accurate information. This book also contains many ways to do everyday tasks in order to give respect the kings and queens.
Druids Druids are the religious prophesiers of the Celtic times. They are the people who start most of the rituals. The druids of ancient Celtic times were known to possess magical powers and were able to make special potions and spells. They were trusted by all of the citizens, so they could start the rituals without question. They could also protect warriors by infusing spells into their swords. http://www.flickr.com/photos/shadowmane/4762785370
